Welcome to teaching at WVU!
WVU is excited to present the 2024 orientation activities for new instructors across all WVU’s campuses – Morgantown, Keyser and Beckley. This year’s event is co-hosted by the WVU Office of the Provost, faculty associates from the former Teaching and Learning Commons and members of the Faculty Senate Teaching and Assessment Committee.
Whether you are a new faculty member or a graduate teaching assistant, our online modules and work and information sessions are designed to prepare you for a successful teaching experience at WVU.

Contact UsSTEP 1: Complete the ecampus Modules
All 2024 teaching orientation participants must complete four online modules by August 1. These modules provide essential information and resources that will help you to navigate the following:
- Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Diversity and Accessibility
- Academic Integrity and Dishonesty
- Integrating School and Life
You can access the modules in eCampus by following three easy steps.
STEP 2: Attend the Session(s)
WVU faculty members and graduate teaching assistants have different sessions to attend. Be sure to register for the appropriate events and mark your calendar accordingly!
FACULTY
Teaching Work Session
All new teaching faculty should plan to attend one 90-minute teaching work session focused on utilizing the eCampus platform.

All new teaching faculty should also plan to attend the two-hour information session about creating a welcoming learning environment, student engagement, and wellness for you and your students.

GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANTS
GTA Orientation Session
All new graduate teaching assistants should plan to attend one in-person, three-hour orientation session. The session will focus on creating a welcoming learning environment, student engagement and wellness for you and your students.
Choose ONE session to attend. Register by August 1.
