Ann Marie Hibbert

Associate Professor and Ph. D. Program Coordinator, Department of Finance

I am an Associate Professor of Finance in the Chambers College of Business and Economics where I also currently serve as the Finance Ph.D. Program Coordinator. I am originally from Jamaica. I earned my first degree, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of the West Indies - St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad. I worked for close to 10 years in the hotel industry in Jamaica. I have an MBA and a Ph.D. in finance from Florida International University and have been at WVU since 2008 when I started as a tenure-track assistant professor of finance.

Most of my current research is in the area of behavioral finance, with a particular focus on how behavioral biases and mental heuristics impact individual, household, and corporate decision-making. I mainly teach courses on corporate finance, securities analysis, portfolio management, and derivative securities.

I enjoy spending quality time with my twelve-year-old daughter, working out, traveling, and cooking vegan meals.
