WVU School of Pharmacy, Co-Chair, WVU Academic Advising Council Executive Committee; Co-Chair, School of Pharmacy DEI Standing Committee
As a member of the WVU LGBTQ+ community, I am an ever-aspiring ally and advocate for marginalized individuals across campus and in our community. I have worked at WVU since the Fall of 1988 and became a full-time staff member in the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs in the School of Pharmacy in the summer of 1995. Throughout my career I have served on the Council on Sexual Orientation, as past co-advisor to the LGBTQ+ student organization, as a social justice liaison, and serve on School wide and Health Sciences Center wide DEI Committees. I am a passionate advocate for faculty, staff and students in working to change policy, procedure and to develop resources to support the marginalized communities in our world. I am devoted to supporting our BIPOC community, and I am committed to my own cultural humility and anti-racism efforts as well as supporting that self-awareness and personal growth in others. I specialize in admissions and student affairs work with a focus on advising and student well-being. As a first-generation college student, I also advocate for this population. I have earned my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, and a Master's in Higher Education Administration with a focus area of Pharmacy. I am Safe-Zone trained, Trans-Zone Trained, and Mental Health First-Aider Trained and I advocate and support well-being efforts across campus for all members of our community, especially those in underserved and marginalized communities. I am especially concerned with the intersectionality BIPOC members of our community face in association with LGBTQ+ Gender identities. Supporting one another and especially our students in their continued success is my full-time devotion. #BLM
