WVU values teaching that stimulates critical thinking and curiosity, disseminates knowledge, and develops communication skills and/or artistic expression. It includes traditional modes of instruction – such as classroom lectures, discussions and seminars – as well as clinical, laboratory, online, practicum, and other modes of instruction. Our faculty utilize a variety of platforms to deliver instruction – from in-person classroom teaching to fully online as well as hybrid teaching modalities. WVU also values teaching that occurs outside of scheduled classes – such as thesis and dissertation direction, critique of student performance, mentoring and more.
